Despite my break from DA I wanted at least submit the picture I did in honour of the "Earth Day" today.
It was so calming to spend a day totally without the internet and only with drawing and watching non demanding TV shows (a big yay for old reruns of "Quincy M.E."
).
So... a while back I was pondering to draw another bird picture... and after some research in books I decided to draw a Lorikeet. I don't know the name in English... in German it is a "Bergzierlori" a member of the Lorikeet family.
It's one of the biggest picture I drew in years. A little bit bigger than A3... I had to split the scan in three parts which was quite troubling because the lid of my parent's scanner is opening on the "wrong" side ... but I managed and I hope nobody spots the scanning lines XD
I still take a little time out but I will read comments and reply to important things and to notes of course.
And thank you so much for all the caring comments yesterday.
s go to all my watchers and friends. I felt so overwhelmed when I read them some minutes ago.
I hope you like the Lorikeet. We all need to remember that the Earth is unique and special and we just have that one Earth and we need to take care of it and all its special and unique flora and fauna
